The Challenge
As transformational technologies like 5G, SDN/NFV, SD-WAN, virtualization, and IoT are being adopted, networks have become more complex than ever and with additional ‘blind spots’. Today Service Providers and Enterprises must be able to see all of their data and applications in real time to secure and manage their growing networks and traffic demands while improving productivity and keeping watch for security attacks and leaks. Learn about NetDescribe’s proven security solution now: Cubro
Cubro – the Solution from NetDescribe
Cubro provides a comprehensive set of network visibility solutions that are efficient, cost-effective and performance-oriented. With products that enable total network visibility into traffic, Cubro enhances and supports deployments in the Telecommunications, ISP, Data Center, Enterprise, and Government spaces whether it be in virtual or physical environments. With Cubro, NetDescribe offers leading technology that keeps you ahead of the curve.
Cubro products observe all traffic traversing an organization’s network and copy relevant data from any part of the network, including on premise, in the cloud and in virtual environments. The data is passed efficiently to 3rd party network security, analytics and network monitoring tools on their terms, when and how, to ensure there are no monitoring ‘blind spots’.
The tools thus have full visibility of all network traffic to allow them to execute their function correctly and efficiently to improve IT services’ performance and enhance data security, while their loading is minimized to extend their lifespan and they are able to monitor previously disparate and speed incompatible networks and services.
Consequently, Cubro solutions are instrumental in the successful outcomes of IT initiatives including:
- 5G/4G/3G Customer Experience Management and Service Assurance
- Digital Transformation
- Data Security
- Virtual Data Centers
- Software Defined Networking/NFV
- High Performance Networks
Cubro Network TAP (Test Access Point) – Copper / Optical
A network TAP (Test Access Point) is a hardware device used at a specific point in the network to monitor data transmission. Generally, there are two types of TAPs, copper or optical.
- The Cubro 10/100/1000 Copper TAP allows the uninterrupted passage of full duplex data over standard Category 5/6 copper network cable. Featuring auto negotiating between 10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1000Mbps, this TAP duplicates the network signals, including any existing physical errors to the transmit-only monitoring ports. The Cubro Copper TAP supports fast link recovery to ensure the fastest possible time to re-establish a link after a power down. This time is also related to the link partners and fully predictable. This Copper TAP also allows to look at the physical details and change some parameters for a faster recovery.
- Cubros optical TAP gives you real-time monitoring access to a physical optical data link without interfering it. Due to the fact that the optical TAP is fully passive (no power supply needed) it is no risk to put it in an active link. The unit is equipped with standard LC adapter and is available as single mode (1310/1550nm) or multi mode (850/1300nm) version. Due to the full transparency you can use our optical TAPs for all protocols or data rates up to 100 Gbit.
The Cubro Omnia Series
- Omnia is a multi-function network appliance perfect for SMBs, branch offices and remote deployments. With built-in, passive tapping capability, 10G interfaces, on-board storage, and a diverse set of software options to choose from, it is a device capable of addressing a multitude of network and security challenges. By pairing a unique hardware feature-set with functions from Cubro’s Packetmaster, Sessionmaster, and Appmaster feature stacks, Omnia can take on the roles of an Aggregation TAP, Advanced Network Packet Broker, DPI Probe, Capture appliance and more. Omnia is an affordable, high-performance, customizable network appliance with an unique design and flexible feature set.
Cubro Network Packet Broker (NPB)
- The Packetmaster is a high performance network packet broker that aggregates, filters, duplicates, load balances network traffic to security, monitoring and management tools. The Packetmaster supports OSI Layer 2, Layer 3 and Layer 4 header modifications including stripping, adding, and modifying VLAN tags, MPLS labels, MAC addresses, IP addresses and Port numbers. It can function as a GRE/VXLAN tunnel endpoint, generate standard-conform sFlow information of the incoming traffic and much more.
Customers prefer Cubro’s solution for a variety of operational and business reasons:
- complete network visibility through innovative technology
- removal of “blind spots” from all network environments to provide uninterrupted service and improved performance
- controlled distribution of traffic to the security tool for increased efficiency, improved monitoring and security posture
- low maintenance costs
- low purchase price
- reduced monitoring costs and increased ROI
- excellent technical support
